"Poison Hands"

That is what Markus called me today after we learned yesterday that I did infact have Poison Ivy on my arm. He then proceeded to say, "put your hands where I can see them". I felt like a criminal but it was kinda funny. This stuff itches!

I LEFT

the game early (weird I know) Anybody heard who won????

I didn't forget my camera though, here's some pics for ya. (Backwards)
My new fav football pic of us

One of the many touchdowns for UGA
This pic was taken before the one above right when the QB passed the ball

The bulldog mascot after the 2nd TD
Right before the game, Georgia got as close as they could to the eye to stomp without being penalized. Notice the officials blocking the eye of the tiger.

Sick to My Stomach

Last night we noticed Bogey was acting kinda hurt. So we put him on our bed to sleep with us (not unusual) and he stayed in the same spot all night long (very unusual). This morning he couldn't jump off the bed. Me, I'm freakin out because we are about to leave him all day for the football game and he is obviously hurting. I'm so sad for him. He won't even jump on the couch either. What ever happen to dogs telling you what's wrong, like people do? I guess this is a touch of having kids for me. OH Geez!

A Song That Describes Me

At work I listen to Pandora Radio which I love. It plays the same genre of songs just by creating a radio station of an artist you like. Very cool. Well just a minute ago Jack Johnson came on (thanks again Jess for the intro) and his song Breakdown was playing. The words just spoke to me.

The Lyrics to Breakdown :
I hope this old train breaks down
then I could take a walk around
and, see what there is to see
and time is just a melody
all the people in the street
walk as fast as their feet can take them
I just roam through town
And though my windows got a view
The frame im looking through
seems to have no concern for me now
so for now

chorus:
I need this here
old train to breakdown
oh please just
let me please breakdown

This engine screams out loud
Sayin the beat gunna crawl westbound
so I dont even make a sound
cause its gunna sting me when I leave this town
All the people in the street
that i'll never get to meet
if these dont bend somehow
and I got no time
that I got to get to
where I dont need to be
So I

Chorus:
I need this here
old train to breakdown
oh please just let me please breakdown
I need this hereold train to breakdown
oh please just
let me please breakdown
I wanna break on down
but I cant stop now
let me break on down

But you cant stop nothing
if you got no control
of the thoughts in your mind
that you kept in, you know
you don't know nothing
but you dont need to know
the wisdoms in the trees
not the glass windows
You cant stop wishing
If you dont let go
But things that you find
and you lose, and you know
you keep on rolling
put the moment on hold
the frames too bright
so put the blinds down low

Chorus

And there you have it. It has such a nice ring to it when he is singing it too.

Unbelieveable

Yesterday after Aaron, Lisa & Greyson left, Markus and I were watching the 3rd Qtr of the LSU game.  I was looking at Bogey and noticed his eyes needed to be cleaned.  I bought these eye and ear dogey wipes and never tried them out.  Wanting to give them a try, I popped the black top off to peel the plastic covering away to thread the wipes through.  Markus wanted to help do it instead of hold my pint of ice cream for me.  He suggested I let him do it while I ate my ice cream.  So I did.  He got the plastic covering off and everything.  He threaded the wipes through the hole and I thought all was well.  NOT SO.  He jumped up from the couch and turned around to face the fireplace.  I panicking (always) asked if everything was ok.  He proceeded to try and walk away hiding something.  I was like honey, are you ok??  He says, I got my finger stuck in the hole.  WHAT! I jumped up from the couch to take a look.

Oh yes he wasn't kidding.  We tried everything to get his fat thumb out, no luck.  He was really beginning to hurt and I couldn't stop laughing of course.  The camera was right on the table and I didn't think to grab it.  He always make fun of every pic I want to take these days because he picks that it will turn into a blog entry.  Well he took these pics of his poor thumb after all was said and done.

The Damage

The Hole

Here is where he cut it off his finger

The repair.  I can't have my wipes drying out!

Cool Picture Tag

Courtney, I didn't cheat on this one.  I thought it would be from 2008 but apparently Markus started a folder that was from like 2004 so that put this pic from 2007.

The tag is to post the fourth picture from the fourth folder in your pictures file.

Mine was from my sister Naomi's sealing last January of her and her little family.  It was a very sweet day.  I just love them all dressed in white.

I tag Omi, Jolie, Brittany, Kristen, & Jamie H.

South Carolina Game

I fell asleep during the 3rd Qtr.  I heard we won, Geaux Tigers!

Here Ya Go

Why don't you post on my "our" blog?  This is the repeated question I hear, to which my response is "No one wants to read about what I have to say, nor do I have much to say."  Evidently that is not a good enough of an answer.  So here it goes:

The National Debt/Fiscal Policy:
A constant topic on many media outlets, especially in election years or in economic downtimes .  Things like "each persons share is $33,000" and "what if China calls our debt to them?", are some of the popular scare tactic phrases I hear a lot.

A New Adventure

A couple of weeks ago there was a nice old lady that stopped by my house one Sunday afternoon. Not knowing who she was, I was reluctant to open the door, but she seemed nice enough. She was a lady in the neighborhood who just happens to live in my favorite house in our neighborhood. She was trying to promote the new up and coming Homeowner's Association. After minutes of talking to her and getting very excited with her, I volunteered to be the treasurer if needed. She just informed me 2 days ago, that if I'm still interested they could use my help. So you're looking at the Treasurer for the Homeowner's Association for our little neighborhood. I'm excited for this actually. My mom discouraged me a bit about it, but that isn't anything unusual. I feel good about the fact that I can give back (if you would call it that) to my community and more importantly where I live. So we will see how that goes. The first meeting is this weekend. Wish me luck!

HOW Did I Miss This?

My mom brought me to church on Sunday and on the ride there she had her Michael Buble CD playing. I got mom into him and we were talking about how much we love his music. She then proceed to tell me he's coming to LA this week. What?!? I was like, UM no mom. I don't think so. I think I would've known about this. She said they advertised it on the radio. I assured her I didn't hear it and she had to be mistaken. HAHAHA man how I wish she was wrong. Come to find out, he'll be in Lafayette tonight. I must say I'm very sad about this and feel cheated. Why didn't Michael Buble call me and invite me to come?? Doesn't he know I would've been there in a heartbeat?

My "Gotta Have it" Deflated

Markus and I went to the mall yesterday. I was of course anxious to see the "Fleur de Tigre" Pendant (See my gotta have it post below). So I pranced into Lee Michaels and they, so anxious to help, pointed me right to it. As soon as I saw it, my face fell. I think the girl helping us saw the same thing, she offered to let me try it on, you know the usual. All I could say was, "it's HUGE". The ladies of course were trying hard to convince me to just try it on. I'm not a very flashy person. Granted, I like nice things, I just like them to be in scale with little petite me. This pendant was not the case. I just said I know this won't work out. I really wished it came in a different size. So when you see the $175 price tag, just know it's a lot of necklace for the price. It's not tiny at all. I'm still in shock!

Saturday Night College Football

Nothing like #1,2 & 3 losing their games.  Why did we have to follow the trend?  I'll be happy if we can just BEAT BAMA.  Say it with me, BEAT BAMA!  That's all I really care about.  I'll just remember last year's Florida game.  I like that one better.

*Looking back at last year's post, I had to laugh, we still don't have the 50" :)

Bring it on!

I can't say enough how pumped I am for this game.  Seems like forever since the Tigers have played.  Florida better look out and give us a game to play.  I hope it's not boring cause the Tigers are so awesome.  I really wanted to go to this one this year.  But no--- Markus didn't apply for away game tickets.  Grr...  And to hear LSU sent tickets back to Florida.  Why didn't they ask me if I wanted some??

Gotta Have it

So my Bday is coming soon (see football sched @ right) and I usually ask for jewelry from my MIL or my hubby. I was buzzing around on Lee Michaels website to find this awesome necklace that I can't live without. Isn't it beauty-ful? I want I want I want. Was that enough 2year old for ya :O

I've Been Thinkin'...

About Finding joy in the journey. At Conference Pres. Monson kept repeating that phrase over and over. It has since stuck in my mind and sat there for the past few days. Initially when I heard it, it sounded familiar and instantly made sense. Then I tried to figure out where I had heard it before. It had to have been from church somewhere along the line that is was said and now I just can't remember where. But what a profound statement and at times hard. Not to say the task is impossible, but being positive is quite the struggle for me at times. I guess you could say it's a weakness of mine, so naturally when I heard this of course I immediately thought he was speaking straight to me. Imagine that?!? Exactly how am I going to go about doing that, well I'm going to try to see more of the posititve in things. It's hard, but it's not impossible as I have thought at times. It was nice to hear how he talked about difficulties in the people's lives he gave examples from, yet through it all were able to see the joy. Joy can be present even in troubling times. Like my family, at one point or another when drama sets in, I'm amazed how we are able to unite together and work through it. And oh what a joy that is, togetherness. It's funny how that works. So how are you going to "Find Joy in the Journey"?

Soups ON

I'm sad to say I've neglected my "I'm Hungry" blog because honestly in the past month it's been filled with hurricanes, no electricity for a while, no food in the house to cook with, and quite a bit of eating out.  But now that we've restocked our food supply and we are finally back to normal, I'm excited to say, "Soups ON!".  This is my favorite time of year and for what better reason, (other than the cool temps) than to have soup.  Markus and I love soup and sometimes are obsessed with some soups enough to eat them when it's hot outside.  Crazy I know but visit my blog for these obsessions.

My Fav Season is Here!!!

I found this cute background and was thrilled because is reminds me so much of the fall, my favorite season.  I don't know if I'm partial, being born in the fall time, but it doesn't get much better than this time of year.  The funny thing about the colors of fall is they are so warm and my color preference is completely cool colors.  I bought a mum that was orange/yellow the other day and put it right by my front door.  The yellow mums I bought last year, for those who came to the football party might remember (yeah right) I had bright yellow ones in the front yard, and guess what a year later they are still alive and kicking.  They have spread everywhere.  Well I could go on about how I love the weather and the cool temperatures and how I love to be out in my yard and not sweat for once or the warm soup that is served in my kitchen and well the list could go on, but long story short... I'm so happy Fall is here.  If only it could stay around longer.

Just A Thought

I drive back and forth a lot as I manage 2 accounting offices for work.  During that back and forth is my time to catch up with friends/family on the phone or just daydream.  Today I was daydreaming about kids (weird I know).  In that thought I was thinking about being the older sister I would be the one to get married, have kids you know the first for all the milestones in life.  But I'm the exception to that rule in my family.  I was thinking about how when my sisters are 40 and their oldest is 20 how that will instantly age them to like 50 and how when we are together, people will think I'm the youngest (it happens all the time believe it or not) and not the oldest.  That of course, just brought a smile to my face.  The thought of having kids in my later twenties suddenly didn't seem so bad.  I actually laughed out loud.  It was amusing to me.  Just a thought.
