Toot Toot

That's the sound of my new car/truck/suv's horn. I really don't know what to call it. Markus and I were forced to break down and finally buy a new car. We've been having horrible luck the past few weeks with cars and it has been so crappy. For 2 or so weeks we've been down to one car. Markus' car that he drives to work would only let him go about 15 mph. It needs new parts. Our mechanic friend suggested we don't drive it til it gets a new catalic converter or else we'll mess the engine up, so it's temporarily retired. So the newest one we had was the Infiniti. Well last week the car seemed like it desperately needed a front end alignment. So last Friday Markus couldn't take it anymore so he drove straight to Simple Simon to get an alignment. This was supposed to be a 30-min process. I knew something was wrong after 30 min came and went. See the car had only been acting funny for about a week. In my head front end alignments were a progressively worse thing. After all was said and done we basically we needed new front end work done on it. Which the guy quoted us $2,000 on but couldn't promise us we'd walk out of there with that. (labor). I laughed really loud to stop from crying. This awesome deal we got 1-1/2 years ago has now costs us 1/2 what the car is worth. And we just finished paying it off in September. Ugh!!! He didn't even want us to drive the car home. He said the wheels at some point will fall off and you will lose all control of your car. I'm sitting there thinking how in the hell do you expect me to get home. He kept saying I would trade it in if it was me. I was thinking yeah just what I want a new car. OOOO... NOT! So after looking for a LONG week and borrowing and trading my in-laws cars we found something. Drum roll..... Nope it's no minivan I promise... But it is a family car. I think. We got a 2004 GMC Envoy. And boy is she a beauty. (cars are always she's to me by the way). She's fully loaded with so many bells and whistles we so aren't used to. And for a used car price. We didn't have to spend the $35,000 to get it. That's the best part. And they gave us $2200 for the trade in. I'm sad we have to give it up, but at least we still have leather seats. I really took a likin' to those things. So we still have our 1993 Subaru Legacy. Markus thought it was better for us to keep that than the Infiniti since the repairs are only like $200 at any given time rather than thousands. Sad thing is this was the only problem we have had with the car since we bought it and now we traded it. OH and in my opinion this was worse than buying a house. So anyway that was a summary of our last 2 weeks. Finally a decent end to the story. Pictures to follow.
