Day 11: Something people seem to compliment you on the most

Ha! First of all I'm pretty awesome in the kitchen.  And I know it.  How obnoxious was that!  I absolutely love to cook, bake, create, etc.  I have made it a point to love it.  I've been baking since I was a teenager.  And my MIL told me when I got married and realized I had to fill her shoes (did I mention she cooks every night?) that if I can bake I can cook.  Ha!  Well I took that and ran with it.  She certainly gave me the fuel I needed to move full speed ahead... and that I did.  Most of the time anything that I make or bring anywhere I get complimented on it.  I love it.  I'm also not one of those people who don't share.  If you want the recipe or want to know how I did it or what's in it, I'll give it to ya.  Hence that is where I'm Hungry {the recipe blog} came from.  I think the setting of a family sitting around the table and enjoying a home cooked meal has become more of a lost tradition than a sense of normalcy in today's household.  That is awfully sad to me.  I think that is my favorite part of a dinner party.  Ever noticed when you are invited over for dinner it's not just for a great meal?  It usually includes great conversation and fabulous company.  That is what I strive for when creating meals.  I will usually wait to eat dinner late if it means I can eat with my husband and we can not only eat together but share something more than just food.

Anyway.. if you want a little spice to your life, check out the link above to my recipe blog.  Enjoy!  And may you make many happy meals & memories.

Day 10: Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn't know

You know how you have certain people in your life that you can't "let go of" because of their association whether it be they are your family, co-worker, fellow church goer, etc.  Well that is who this person is.  No names or anything.  However, I'm not at the liberty to let go of this person but I would certainly be better off if I didn't know them.  Matter of fact this person reminds me of someone that I don't need another one just like in my life.  I think that is the main reason I could/should let them go but can't.  Oh well, guess I'll just suffer through it.  Haha!  I try to make it a comical affair, but it hasn't worked thus far.  This person still sucks and aggravates the every living piss out of me.  THE END.

Day 9: Someone who you didn't want to let go, but just drifted

My dearest longest best friend from middle school & high school, Jagy. She is by far the only person I know that no matter what happens in life and where it takes us we can pick up where we left off like we were never had a break. I don't really know what happened between us. We even managed to stay in touch when I moved to Seattle my senior year in high school. I moved back and we never missed a beat. She was at LSU and I was trying to get my life back up and going again from being gone for a year and a half. Then I found Markus and she graduated and moved to New York. And I got married. I guess life just happens. I hate that sometimes. It's those friendships like ours that I do believe will never die. I love her like she is my sister. The one I never had. We have shared so much together over the years. I miss her. I really do. She recently told me her dad got a job here and will be moving back. I secretly hope she does too. I hope she can find a job here after grad school. That would be so awesome. Miss you and love you always Jagy.

Day 8: Someone who has made your life hell, or treated you like crap

I didn't think this was appropriate to write about on a Sunday. So here we go on Monday. And who do I want to give this honor to. Hmmm... And the winner goes to my mother! I know big surprise there. But for obvious reasons. And I don't feel like elaborating on. But maybe at another time.

Squirrel Video

Oh My Gosh! This is the cutest, funniest video. Markus found this on You Tube just surfing around. I have watched it over and over and got the biggest kick out of it every time. Needed a good laugh. Enjoy!

Day 7: Someone who has made your life worth living for

First person who comes to mind is my husband.  He makes my life better than I could have hoped for.  I always looked forward to the day I could get married.  Now granted that day didn't go EXACTLY how I had planned.  I even cried on my wedding day before I even got married.  Ask Markus, it's a long story.  We had gotten in to a fight before we even got to the temple.  But that day I think was the best day of my whole life.  I felt my Daddy's presence so strong.  I knew that it was the best decision I had made up to that point.  And still is to this day.  He gave me the hope in my life that had been lost for so long.  He taught me how to love again.  He taught me how to see the world from a different perception.  He taught me that we could be happy despite what I grew up around.  And that happiness is a real thing.  Boy I could go on.  It's not always pretty between us, but he is my best friend in the whole world (sorry Lea-Lea- you are my best "girl" friend).  I know I can tell him anything and he will listen and most of the time not judge and give me his honest opinion.  What more could a girl ask for?  It gets better!  You see he is the most awesome Daddy too.  Nothing makes me happier or brings a faster smile to my face than to see those 2 boys together.  I love the sight of those 2 and the sounds I hear when they are together are the music to my ears!  Markus works so hard and I still expect the most out of him.  He is a saint for putting up with me and if that wasn't enough... the women in my family.  If only daddy were here to keep him going with it all.  Boy he sure missed out on a great guy... that Markus.  I'm happy he got to meet him and his parents before he died.

Now, the second person and the more recent person that has turned my world around would be my son, Trevor.  That child is the light I've waited for, for so long.  He is the reason my heart beats.  I just thank God for blessing me with a healthy baby to adore and love and teach all about Him.  I cannot say enough about this sweet little Spirit that I was fortunate enough to bring into this world.  I dreamed of being a mommy and it is all that and more.  I wait for 5PM to come every M - F.  He is by far the happiest baby I have ever come across in my whole life and how blessed am I to be his mother.  I would always laugh when people would tell me you will never love anything more... and I believe that to be a true statement.  I just don't see how you can split it to another child, but I guess one day I might find out how that is.  But I sure do enjoy every second I get to spend with my "Angel Baby" according to "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer".

Day 6: Something you hope you never have to do

Hands down I hope I never have to go through a divorce.  I've been through it as a child/adolescent one too many times.  I can't imagine my life without the love of my life in it.  I do see how people get to that point, but I could not do it.  That is something that I've always cherished in my life, the opportunity to get married (and to stay married).  I love Markus and I can't imagine my life being married to any other person but him.  I cannot imagine having to start all over either.  We live in a world today where that is all around and it just saddens me that that is what it's coming too.  It's almost easier to get out of a marriage than it is to get in one.  I've seen so many fail and I just never want to lose the fight to keep my marriage strong and together.  It's hard.  And I fall into blahness but I always seem to pick myself back up (or Markus does) and keep on truckin'.  So here is to my mother who made the comment to my sister when I got married, "I hope she gets a divorce so she can know what it feels like"... I hope I never do!  I cherish what I have way too much to just give it up.  Almost 6 years and going strong, I love you MCW~
