Chronic Dirty Dishes Syndrome

Markus and I suffer from CDDS. Those who know us well or have ever been to our house know that we don't do dishes. Well let me rephrase that. We wait at least 1-2 weeks to do our dishes or until we don't have any glasses or silverware to use, whichever comes first. Then once that has been reached we play this "it's your turn" game. Which never works for us. Oh, or the "let's have people over" game. That one always proves to be successful at getting the house cleaned up, but usually the dishes are the last thing to get touched and sometimes don't before our dinner party. I try everything to get out of not doing the dishes from playing the "it's your turn" game to the "i'm not cooking in a dirty kitchen" routine. This might prove to be amusing to some of you (that is one reason why I'm sharing), but it's for real. This is our life, as pathetic as it is. So to the real reason of my rant... I have a confession to make. For one whole week I have a an empty sink at night. EVERY night. What a great feeling it is. I must say I've never experienced the feeling, but I like it. And we haven't had anyone over and I've even cooked a few times this week. I don't know how long this will last around here, so to document the accomplish I have taken a picture of how the sink looks tonight and has for 7 whole days. Please use caution while viewing the following material. Please do not try this at home!
This is such an unusual sight. Oh and I have never even noticed the drains were 2 different colors. Sad, but true. I also discovered through this 1 week adventure that my sink has a little built-in dispenser for the soap, oh and it also has a sprayer thingy which I'm still not used to. I used it though this week and could actually see it and remembered I had it to use. The picture cuts it off, but I have this little pull out half-way drawer thing that holds like brushes and sponges and stuff. That is why the sink is so clean of clutter. I'm going to start putting it to good use.

Welcome Daniel

And he is just cute, cute cute. My little sissy had her baby last night. I just saw him for the first time today. He is perfect. I didn't get to hold him for long, but my mom snapped some cute pics. Those to come soon. He has my sister's little lips/mouth. It's so pouty and not mistakable. I just love that both of her kids got her cute little mouth. Oh and he has long eyelashes thanks to his momma. Naomi lucked out with the long eyelashes and passed that on to both of her kids too. Love it!

But it's Raining....

Was the response I got when I asked Markus to take the trash out. I couldn't put another thing into it. I told him to at least take the bag out of the trash can so I can put a new one in and throw some trash away. Well I went on my way made dinner, went to the hospital, etc. Well this is what Markus saw as he went to find Bogey.
Excuses, excuses. He went to say "bad dog!" to Bogey and I was like NO this is your fault. You didn't want to take the trash out when I asked you. Markus would rather make excuses a thousand times over than do something when I ask him. And he wonders why things like this happen. DUH!

Word Verification?!?

I really love making comments on other's blogs. It's fun. But one thing I really don't understand is the word verification thingy. Is it just me?? It drives me nuts, especially because I can't ever get it right on the first try. What exactly is the point of that?? To make you fell stupid because you can't type random letters in a box that are supposed to be a WORD. Ha! I guess I just don't understand why google does it. I think it's dumb. Just thought I'd let yall know. What's your take on it??

HE MADE IT!!

Not sure how many of yall know Markus plays league tennis. He has since he was a kid. And his Spring League has just qualified for State to be played in Shreveport. I am so excited for him and proud too, (probably not like his mother) but I still am. Since he got back into tennis about 2 years ago now, he has gotten a lot better. He claims he'll get bumped up (to a different level of players) but we will see. 2 weeks ago he played in the Highland Open, a charity tournament, and for his skill level (3.0) he won! He was supposedly featured in the newspaper his parents told us, but we didn't even get to see it. Pretty cool. So if he goes all the way this time, I'll definitely have to save the paper this time.

Ahhh the Sweet Smell of Jasmine

Nothing says springtime to me than Jasmine. And that smell, it's unmistakeable. When we bought the house my realtor pointed out the jasmine growing. I've been anticipating the blooms since the fall. They are finally here. Some cool shots I got. Markus keeps saying I can smell that plant from inside. It's so funny. Sometimes guys just don't get it when it comes to flowers.

I've Learned...

I don't relate very well to a lot of my friends. It's become more than just an observation, it's more like... an annoyance. As time goes by and I find out that more of the people around me are having babies and I'm not, it's not so annoying to me. Weird I know. When Markus and I first got married that was all I could talk about was babies, oh and having them. I would get mad at him not wanting to hear about it and my friends just popping up "prego". Some days I would just sit there and cry and wonder why not me. I mean after all it was a righteous desire, RIGHT? I wished my daddy could've been here to be papa and all the other things that can run through a woman's head. But through the years, especially now with us buying this house I've really come to grips with my life and what being happy is all about. Not so much about having more (a baby), but with what I have now and what it means to me right NOW. As strange as it sounds, I think it was meant for us to buy this house and for me to have a "baby" per say, especially now that it is spring. I'm out in the yard every weekend and during the week before dark. I can't tell you how excited I was that the time changed. Daylight longer.... Yay! I love taking care of it and doing all the fun projects I can come up with. I like the fact that I'm content with my life and I'm truly happy with my husband. I know that kids will come, but not everything can go by Jenn's plan. Even though I think it will (I know after all these years). The Lord has a way of giving us the desires of our heart even if it isn't the way we think it should be. I am so blessed to have my husband share my life with me and to learn along with me. Ha he's been telling me this all along, we should enjoy it being just us. I am and I love it. He is more right than I am on some issues and this is one where he wins the cake.

Just wanted to say that.

I love you honey and I'm happy with what we are. Just US.
