I Heart Snow Day

Who would've thought we'd wake up to SNOW.  I know I'm not the first or the last that will be talking about this day.  How fun.  It hasn't snowed (and stuck) like this for 20 years.  I was only 5 I believe.  We made a huge snowman in the front yard in 1988 too.  But in 2008 I had to go to work.  It was a beautiful drive there though.  Highland Road was gorgeous.  I managed to snap several photos before going into work.  So here's to snow @ 6:30am :)  If only I believed it was going to snow I would've woke up earlier just to play in it.  By the time I put real clothes on to take a pic of the front, the kids a couple of houses down already built a snowman as tall as me.  How did they know before me??  hehe

The Backyard

Bogey was so not into the snow.  He just cautiously stood on the deck.  It was hilarious!

The front of the house.  Look at the ice/snow on the driveway.  It reminded me of a slushy.

The poor Oleander in the backyard.  Too bad it didn't have all the snow on it when we took the pics at 1pm.  It's the same bush, only 6+ hours earlier. 

Christmas Card Pics

Usually I am one of the first to get my Christmas Cards out. I tried really hard to get them out with the invites, but I didn't really love any of the pics I was using for them.

But I guess it pays to wait (what I've learned from Markus) and IT SNOWED. So I took off early at noon to come home just to take our Christmas Card pic with the SNOW. And Markus was not happy about this being off early. It was the last thing he wanted to do on his day off. So help me decide what face of Markus' is the most tolerable so I can get these out this weekend.

Hope everyone had fun in the snow. I felt like I was driving in the mountains while driving down Highland Rd. to get to work this morning. I'll post my pics from 6:30am later. :)

Happy Birthday Markus!

I know it got off to a rough start with the 2 call outs at the wee hours of the morning, but somehow in my half-asleep self managed to belt out Happy Birthday. That counts for something, right? Won't be long and you won't have to worry about that irritation. I love you for everything you are and hope you have a great day. Goodness knows you deserve it. Hey I might even make your favorite cake AGAIN for you. 2 times in one week, that should cover me for another year, right? You are the best and I'm happy & proud to be your wife. Happy Birthday Sweets!

Christmas Decor

The tree is done and the mantle decor hasn't fallen since the 3rd time Yay! Here's the pics. My tree this year is done in white and silver. I'm pretty pleased with it. I could stand to add more ornaments, but you need money to do that. :) The mantle had to be done 4 times, but I think it's staying put this time. Something different this year. We took the mirror down (I was over it being above the mantle) and moved the pic in the dining to the living room and the mirror replaced the pic in the dining. I love this sooo much more than before. That's always a good thing. Now if I can just get my rug and ottoman I'll be ok with the living room. It's ok to dream right?

Still Working

I'm still working on decorating. How pathetic, right? Well I worked on my mantle and came home the next day and it was all on the floor. I was pretty bummed. But I started over. Happy to say it's wrapping up. I will post pics of the tree when I figure out something with the top. Markus broke my star that I bought in the after Christmas sale so that was annoying. Boys just don't get it! So the house is almost ready to go for the party. I promise to get the invites out tomorrow. I'm kinda behind. Which is sooo not me. Then on to the Christmas cards. O I just love this time of year!

Happy Late Bday Lea-Lea

Can't believe I talked to my best friend on her bday without even wishing her a Happy Birthday. I'm so sorry Lea-Lea. I'll make it up to you this weekend when we go shopping. Just wanted you to know how much I value our friendship. You're like a sister to me! happy 27, my fav #. Glad we got to go to this game together. I'll see what I can do next year too!
