My Heart Fell

I received an email from my sister today. I knew something was wrong b/c she is horrible about keeping in touch. Her daughter's name was the subject. Suddenly my stomach didn't feel so good. She had to be rushed to the hospital. I just kept reading on... very very fast. Oh she's still alive. Apparently as of yesterday she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Her blood sugar was so high it wouldn't even register at first. She was very close to going into a coma. My poor Ci Ci. She's just 12 years old and now has a life altering disease. I know my daddy is watching from above and is just shaking his head. See he was diagnosed at my age 25, with type 1 Diabetes. Boy did it change his life. Ours too and we were his kids. I don't know how my sister is handling this. That has been my worst fear since I've known about Daddy's condition... and that is getting it myself. Oh I love you Ciera and Auntie Jenn is praying for you. Hang in there kid. Ahhh...

A New Look

Thanks to Kathy's page I was finally able to come up to speed with a cute layout like everyone else seemed to have. I was feeling like why in the heck can't my page be cuteness. Anyways I would have like for this to be aqua instead of pink, but I don't mind it. I kinda reminds me of my scrapbooking room. Now that I know how to change it, I might do it more often. :) Thanks Kathy!

Toot Toot

That's the sound of my new car/truck/suv's horn. I really don't know what to call it. Markus and I were forced to break down and finally buy a new car. We've been having horrible luck the past few weeks with cars and it has been so crappy. For 2 or so weeks we've been down to one car. Markus' car that he drives to work would only let him go about 15 mph. It needs new parts. Our mechanic friend suggested we don't drive it til it gets a new catalic converter or else we'll mess the engine up, so it's temporarily retired. So the newest one we had was the Infiniti. Well last week the car seemed like it desperately needed a front end alignment. So last Friday Markus couldn't take it anymore so he drove straight to Simple Simon to get an alignment. This was supposed to be a 30-min process. I knew something was wrong after 30 min came and went. See the car had only been acting funny for about a week. In my head front end alignments were a progressively worse thing. After all was said and done we basically we needed new front end work done on it. Which the guy quoted us $2,000 on but couldn't promise us we'd walk out of there with that. (labor). I laughed really loud to stop from crying. This awesome deal we got 1-1/2 years ago has now costs us 1/2 what the car is worth. And we just finished paying it off in September. Ugh!!! He didn't even want us to drive the car home. He said the wheels at some point will fall off and you will lose all control of your car. I'm sitting there thinking how in the hell do you expect me to get home. He kept saying I would trade it in if it was me. I was thinking yeah just what I want a new car. OOOO... NOT! So after looking for a LONG week and borrowing and trading my in-laws cars we found something. Drum roll..... Nope it's no minivan I promise... But it is a family car. I think. We got a 2004 GMC Envoy. And boy is she a beauty. (cars are always she's to me by the way). She's fully loaded with so many bells and whistles we so aren't used to. And for a used car price. We didn't have to spend the $35,000 to get it. That's the best part. And they gave us $2200 for the trade in. I'm sad we have to give it up, but at least we still have leather seats. I really took a likin' to those things. So we still have our 1993 Subaru Legacy. Markus thought it was better for us to keep that than the Infiniti since the repairs are only like $200 at any given time rather than thousands. Sad thing is this was the only problem we have had with the car since we bought it and now we traded it. OH and in my opinion this was worse than buying a house. So anyway that was a summary of our last 2 weeks. Finally a decent end to the story. Pictures to follow.

New Orleans here we come!!!!!!!

I'm so excited the moment I've finally been waiting for. Michael Buble concert. It actually snuck right up on me. Especially since we are carless. My in-laws have been gracious enough to let us borrow their car so we will have transportation down there. I hope my boss can do something for me with the owner of Gerry Lane. We are looking into an SUV type vehicle. But back to Michael Buble. He is amazing. Awesome to see in concert. He is actually quite funny. I really hope he can make Markus laugh so he will be willing to do this with me again next time he is in town. I love you Markus and thank you for being such a good sport.

Bogey's new Haircut

So it's been awhile since I've posted pics of the things I've be talking about. But here is our dog and the hair cut we gave him. He actually let us do it too. Didn't want to at times. But we had a lot of fun. We like his legs and tail fluffy. I guess next hair cut we'll work on that.

Hair Cut Doggey Style

We gave Bogey a hair cut last night. It was a lot of fun. We borrowed Markus' parents clippers to see how this first time experience for us would go. Well it wasn't bad. Especially since Bogey's hair grows so quick. He is so soft with short hair too. So much softer than now than with long. We did his back last night and will do his legs and stomach tonight. Markus and I got a kick out of this. We'll post pics when he's complete. He's such a good dog and we have really enjoyed having someone else in the house.

Mardi Gras Mambo

Markus and I along with his parents are going to New Orleans today. I've never been for Mardi Gras and I'm very excited to finally see what it is all about. I'm used to the Southdowns parade in Baton Rouge, which Markus never liked going to he just did it for me. He keeps telling me I'll see when we go to Endymion tonight. So I guess we'll see. I'll post more later.
